I am trying something new in life. I want to change my attitude to focus my time and attention to the posative things in life. You may say I want to slow down and not only smell the roses but appreciate them. This used to not be a big deal for me but sadly I have become a very negative person. If I try this using babysteps I might get better then I was before. My first step is to start an hour at a time not having a negative thought. Then I can work up from there to a day, a week, a month.
President Monson said " Regardless of our circumstances, each of us has much for which to be grateful if we will but pause and contemplate our blessings." He goes on to say " This is a wonderful time to be on earth. While there is much that is wrong in the world today, there are many things that are right and good. There are marriages that make it, parents who love their children and sacrifice for them, friends who care about us and help us, teachers who teach. Our lives are blessed in countless ways." and last he says "we can lift ourselves and others as well when we refuse to remain in the realm of negative thought and cultivate within out hearts an attitude of gratitude." (The Divine Gift of Gratitude Oct 2010 conference)
I want to be the person people enjoy talking to instead of the negative one people dread being around because I drain happiness. Each of us have trials and tribulations who am I to think mine are bigger and more important than anyone elses. Who am I to think everyone needs to hear about every struggle I have whether big or small. I had the opportunity to visit with the most amazing person, she takes her trials, learns from them, then turns around and shares what she has been through in a loving way hoping to help at least one person, without worrying what anyone thinks of her.
I think if I focus on helping other people with their struggles while focusing on the posative I can once again be a person I would want to be around. Life was way more enjoyable when I looked forward to each day. Everyday has its ups and downs instead of me dreading the downs I CAN enjoy and look forward to the ups. I will try to get on here at least once a week to help remember the ups and point out things to enjoy. I guess this will be like my journal for a while and hopefully one person will read it and get something from it, even if it is a good laugh. :)

An Update on us all
J has just had his Right knee operated on for a fourth time. We are hoping this is the final one and that he can function better and have an easier time playing with the kids. The surgery went well and he has been doing fine with very little pain.
Katie has been doing a lot of paperwork and running around to get licenced to do Daycare from our home. The state will come do a final walk through of our house on the 22nd and hopefully approve the house and me and give me my licence.
Sabrina has finished 2nd grade with only loosing 7 teeth during the school year. She finally broke up with her boyfriend Tyler on the condition they will still be friends. She is excited to turn 8 for her birthday party which will be a boy girl swim party with a pinata at our house then Aug 1st she will get baptized by her uncle Brigham.
Quentin is excited to start school in Aug. We are not sure if he will be a kindergartner or first grader this year he is very smart and might be bored in kindergarten but still his maturity level might be kindergarten. He loves video games and playing with his friends.
Colton is pretty much potty trained with only a few accidents here and there. He wakes up several times in the night to go pee pee. He is learning new words everyday and we are understanding lots of what he says. He loves bikes and cars and bikes. I have decided to give him a Dirt Bike birthday party this year, can't wait to do the cake.
